Week of December 15th

Weekly Learning

Reading: This week is going to be a review of all Fundations learning to this point.  We will play a few games to reinforce the various sounds and chunks we have practiced.  We will read a nonfiction piece titled, Night Sky (lexile level of 360).  The focus of reading this text will be recognizing the main idea and recording details directly related to the night sky.

 

Writing: Our seasons book is finished, look for it to come home this week.  We will do three to four writing entries in our composition books this week.  We will continue to work on having correct capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and details to provide a mental movie to the reader.

 

Spelling: Please check the spelling tab for the weekly current spelling words and trick words.

Math: Topic 6 is over and a test will take place this week.  Please check out the Xtramath or Sumdog websites to allow your child to practice at home in a fun way.

 

Social Studies and Science: We will not be switching for science and social studies during the month of December.
