Weekly Learning
Reading: Glued sounds are back. We are now learning about the /ing/, /ang/, /ong/, and /ung/ glued sounds. Building words using those sounds and trying to carry them over into our daily reading and writing will be happening this week. We will read EEKK! There's a Mouse in the House (220 lexile level) during class this week. Understanding the characters, where the story takes place, and what events transpired are the areas we will work on this week.
Writing: A seasons book is in the works. After reading about the seasons, we will write about each season and create unique season books. Look for our capital letters, spelling, grammar, and punctuation to be improved since the beginning of the school year.
Math: Topic 5 is underway regarding solving problems up to 20. Please check out the Xtramath or Sumdog websites to allow your child to practice at home in a fun way.
Social Studies and Science: Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving will be the topics covered during November for Social Studies. Science class is conducting an experiment with potatoes and apple seeds. Ask your child about their predictions and observations.
