Weekly Learning
Reading: FUNdations will support our learning to sound out or tap out words beginning with f, l, m, n, and r this week. We will increase our phonemic awareness as we try to read more words. We will practice our comprehension skills through reading Dots, Dots, Dots at the Museum (200 lexile level). We will focus on recognizing a telling story versus learning facts from a text as well as using the illustrations to help gain information.
Writing: Responding to the stories we read, we will work on creating basic sentences that relate to the texts discussed during class.
Math: We will wrap up topic 3 with a test and move onto topic 1 covering addition. Please check out the Xtramath or Sumdog website to practice some math skills. We will also be taking a MAPS test for math on Wednesday.
Social Studies and Science: Field trip to the Avon Lake Public Library on Tuesday, September 9th regarding living things.
