Weekly Learning:
Reading: We will finish our non-fiction text called Dragon in the Rocks. We will demonstrate our ability to understand and use the text as a resource for answering questions. Making inferences will be an area of emphasis as well. Students will incorporate their background knowledge (schema) with text evidence to make accurate inferences about the story. Using non-fiction resources to find information will continue as we research our bug topics. We will use this information to create Power Point shows.
Spelling: Please check the spelling tab.
Writing: We are fully engaged in researching our bug. We will spend writing time recording information and creating a Power Point show. An opinion writing will accompany this project as well.
Math: Topic 10 is focusing on fractions. We will compare various fractions and create and identify equivalent fractions. Our topic 10 test will be on Tuesday, March 10th.
Social Studies: Students will visit Mr. Provenza's room to learn about the economy and our government structure.
