Weekly Learning:
Reading: We will read an excerpt from Little House on the Prairie. We focus on the characters actions and how those events impact the story. Students will incorporate their background knowledge (schema) with text evidence to make accurate inferences about the story. We will take the last reading MAPS test on Wednesday afternoon.
Spelling: Please check the spelling tab.
Writing: Most Power Points are getting wrapped up and the finished touches are being added. We will write an opinion piece to accompany this project and we must share opinions that are supported with examples. We are required to write eight clear and grade level sentences to craft a solid opinion paragraph.
Math: The Topic 10 assessment will be on Tuesday. Monday will be a review day through games. We will shift our focus to geometry with Topic 11 starting Thursday. We have been practicing our math skills through extra worksheets, playing games with partners and online, and incorporating Khan Academy more into our daily routine.
Social Studies: Students will visit Mr. Provenza's room to learn about the economy and our government structure.
