Weekly Learning:
Reading: We have finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl (lexile 810). It was a lot fun reading this wild and crazy book. This week we will explore non-fiction texts and look for and use non-fiction text features to support our comprehension of the texts.
Spelling: Please check the spelling tab for words.
Writing: Some students have completed writing about characters and rooms from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We will wrap up this up and move on next week with research about an insect/bug.
Math: Topic 9 will be completed this week. We will have an assessment on Thursday to check our understanding of fractions. We will play a new review game this week and work on a variety of skills to keep us fresh beyond fractions.
Social Studies: We will be using an atlas as well as our Social Studies book to read maps and practice reading many kinds of maps. This will be the last week with me and students will move onto Mr. Provenza's class next week for more Social Studies learning.
