Week of December 2nd

Weekly Learning:

Reading: We will finish reading If Your Name Was Changed at Ellis Island (Lexile Level 880).  We have emphasized locating the main idea of small chapters and finding evidence to support that idea.  We will continue that area this week and create and answer our own comprehension questions from the text.
Spelling: Please check the spelling tab.
Writing: We will be writing a narrative based on personal experience.  This will relate to our story of If Your Name Was Changed at Ellis Island as many aspects of the book were experiences immigrants had entering and living in America.
Math: Topic 6 is focusing on multiplication and we will continue learning facts patterns and tricks.  The Distributive Property has been discussed and practiced.  Now the Associative Property is being taught and practiced.  New vocabulary to help build our math skills.
Science: Ms. Hamker is exploring matter with our class.
