Week of October 21st

Weekly Learning:

Reading: We will read an excerpt from Ramona Forever.  As we read this text, we will examine how the character influences the story and identify character feelings/actions and traits citing text examples.
Spelling: Please the check the spelling tab at the top of the blog.
Writing: We will be writing Halloween stories.  Our focus will be incorporating adjectives and verbs to create a vivid and descriptive story for the reader.  This process is underway and will take a few weeks.  STILL PLUGGING AWAY!
Math: We are taking a story problem based assessment on Tuesday regarding addition and subtraction methods while incorporating data from charts.  After that is finished, we will turn our focus on multiplication and starting to hit that math topic.  The Sumdog contest has started and the kids are loving the games.  Check it out so you can see what animal your child is on the game.
Social Studies: Social Studies is moving along.  On Monday we went to the Peter Miller House as it directly relates to the heritage of Avon Lake.  Ask them how it went or check out the pictures on the blog. (coming soon!)
